Jack Freedman

Freedman has handled more than 100 cases as an arbitrator, mediator, and expert witness, having demonstrated expertise in resolving disputes relating to film, television, music and theatre. Working in the entertainment industry for over four decades, Freedman is an experienced attorney and has served as a television and theatrical motion picture studio executive at public and private corporations including over 16 years as Vice President of Worldwide Business Affairs and Worldwide Film Acquisition at Warner Bros. – heading business affairs, legal, film acquisition and independent sales divisions where he was responsible for all worldwide motion picture matters including financing, co-productions, negative pick-ups, rights, talent, music, as well as the negotiation, settlement and resolution of disputes in domestic and foreign matters including union, labor, intellectual property, merchandizing, licensing, profit participation and credits. Additionally, he has personally produced both theatrical and television motion pictures for Universal, Tri-Star, Miramax, Paramount, USA, Warner Bros. and Hallmark.

As a licensed real estate broker, Freedman has extensive deal making and negotiation expertise that facilitate settlement of real estate disputes. In commercial and residential matters he has advised owners, landlords and brokers on business, legal and/or valuation aspects often regarding office buildings and shopping centers as well as handling owner leasing for tenants of all sizes, e.g. Verizon Wireless. He has also been involved in numerous real estate transactions as either a general and/or limited partner or as sole owner. Freedman earned his law degree from UCLA after obtaining a Bachelors of Arts in psychology from the University of Buffalo.
